Jacob Thomas, LMSW

Jacob is a licensed counselor specializing in stress management, crisis resolution, and life transitions. He has experience working with clients on how to integrate mindfulness and coping strategies with processing mental health symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as grief and loss. He has a wealth of experience working with adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, as well as families and caregivers throughout his professional career. At The Nourished Nest, Jacob will also be facilitating our intensive outpatient program.  

Jacob has over five years of experience providing therapy for individuals and families within different levels of care, including inpatient, and outpatient settings. His approach as a therapist is to always provide a safe, compassionate therapeutic safe space that promotes the importance of balance, structure, and accountability within the therapy process. 

Jacob received his Masters in Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Jennifer is a licensed counselor specializing in substance abuse and family trauma. She is focused on using techniques and therapy to provide a nourishing environment where clients and family members can address addiction and trauma head-on.

Jennifer has 10 years of experience providing therapy for families and addictive patients. Her primary focus is on families struggling with crisis, addiction, substances abuse and chemical dependencies. Her goal is always to provide a safe, calm environment rich with resources and a path forward to grow and nurture her client’s spirit.

Jennifer received her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University and a Bachelors of Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University.

Theresa brings empathy, accountability, and positive energy to the therapy setting. She honors the process of therapy and creating attainable goals for her patients. Theresa is certified in Prepare and Enrich, which is useful for couples who are seeking connection, cohesion, and strategies to reconnect throughout their relationship and partnership. Her clinical interests include couples therapy while promoting wellness and support. 

Theresa has over eight years of experience providing therapy for adults and adolescents in many settings such as outpatient and working with different agencies. She has experience working with women who are seeking empowerment, focus, and direction as she guides through therapy creating a safe space for wellness and support.  Her primary focus is on individuals and couples who are wanting to seek connection, as well as, proving guidance that promotes self-esteem and wellness while establishing goals that are attainable. 

Theresa received graduated from the University of Maryland is currently licensed in Texas.

Melissa Krahmer. LMSW

Melissa brings vast experience working with adults and adolescents diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression) and crisis. She has experience providing service to Active Duty and Retired military veterans (post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sexual, physical, and emotional trauma, and substance-related issues).

Melissa approaches therapy as a way to help others re-discover hope, purpose, and direction. She assists clients processing trauma integrating Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Cognitive Processing Therapy & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She also has experience working with intellectual disabilities (IDD) and related conditions (autism, etc.) in the community as well as in an acute hospitalization setting.

Melissa received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.

Crystal is a Licensed Social Worker who has a thriving interest in helping Adults, Adolescents and children reach their mental health and healing goals. She has a background in Renal Social Work working in direct patient care in a dialysis medical clinic providing emotional support to individuals with life-altering diagnoses. Crystal’s clinical interests include mental health, adolescent development, anger management, and working with women coping with the stress of infertility. Crystal has significant experience working with adolescents and families within different levels of care including working as a facilitator in the educational setting and support group sessions. Crystal is compassionate, and caring and takes the time to listen to her client’s needs.

Crystal has over 5 years of experience providing therapy for individuals with different levels of care. She offers her clients a safe space to be who they are and speak their truth. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Crystal received graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and is currently licensed in Texas.

Barbi is a licensed counselor specializing in families, and adolescents and providing therapy through education. Barbi brings 20 years of experience providing therapy for families, children, and adolescents through a passion for working with families, especially young children and teens. Her therapeutic approach always provides a safe space that promotes balance, structure, and accountability with an understanding of family, community, and school environments within the therapy process. 

​Barbi is a licensed professional who enjoys working with children of all ages.   She also works with parents and families in providing education and support in navigating the social development stages of children and adolescents.  Barbi has worked in various school districts providing support to students and families in a safe therapeutic environment.
